Stephan P Thorne is a fantasy writer based in Columbus, OH creating queer, intersectional stories for adults.

He's a plant-loving, cardigan-wearing book nerd with a nasty habit of joining tabletop role playing games.

While currently focused on his work as a writer, Stephan also has experience in the nonprofit world, focused around community capacity building and the arts.

He's openly against minimalism, long narratives before a recipe, and institutionalized white supremacy. He firmly believes in the power of community in the fight for social change.

As a kid in the 80s & 90s,

Stephan struggled to find characters in popular media that spoke to his queer, biracial experience. Driven by his desire to relate, he took matters into his own hands and began creating stories that featured people like him, for people like him.

His writing centers intersectional, marginalized characters in adventure stories that blend fantastical escapism with real world undertones of social justice & collective action.

Current Work

Stephan is currently finishing up a novel (stay tuned!), but he has several complete, short-form pieces available to sell for publication. Please inquire below if you would like to know more.

He's also available for speaking appearances related to writing, community, & art. This includes approaches to writing structure; writing from a marginalized point of view, particularly mixed white adjacency & queerness; community growth; and art as business.
